Now in its thirteenth year Art in the Square in Southlake is a weekend full of food, friends, fun and of course art. Ranked number eight in the United States Art in the Square has become one of the most sought after art events by artists across the country.

“There’s oil paintings,” said Samantha Munn, Chair of Art in the Square. “There’s sculptures. There’s photography. There’s jewelry. We had over seven hundred applications again this year. It’s becoming so popular now. This year even our wait list we didn’t even have to touch it because every artist turned up. They were so glad that they had been chosen.”

“I’m very impressed with what’s here already,” said artist Stephen Baldauf. “It looks great. It looks like a really nice show.”

The Southlake Women’s Club hopes to have a great turn out this year and raise even more money than last year. Art in the Square lasts through this Sunday evening.

I am a seventh generation Texan, a Longhorn and I love our great state! I attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with High Honors and a Bachelor of Journalism degree. I was also a scholarship recipient and member of the Longhorn women’s golf team and the Academic All-Big XII team. While at UT, I worked for ESPN in Bristol, Connecticut where I had work published on ESPN.com. I was also an on-air intern for KTBC FOX 7 in Austin. After college I married the love of my life, and we are both happy to be in Dallas. In my free time I love playing golf with my husband (he’s a golfer too), playing with our dog, decorating our new home, watching sports and having fun! I am so excited to be a member of the DFW Reporting team. Sports journalism is one of my greatest passions and I feel blessed to be able to do what I love. I look forward to hearing from you!
