Texas Rangers still have hope [HD]

The Texas Rangers have started the 2010 season with high expectations.

“It should be a very exciting time to be in Arlington, Texas and be a Texas Rangers fan,” said Texas Rangers Team President Nolan Ryan. “We appreciate your support.”

It has been eleven years since the Rangers made the playoffs and while the season is starting a bit shaky Rangers fans still believe that this is the year the Rangers will see some post season action.

“The team has the chemistry to be a winner,” said Rangers fan Mark Wood. “From everything I’ve heard I think they are going to ban together and this is the year it’s going to happen.”

Fans aren’t the only ones with winning on the brain.

“We definitely want to exceed what we did last year,” said Rangers pitcher Colby Lewis. “We finished second.”

During spring training President Nolan Ryan predicted that the Rangers were going to win one hundred and one games this year. His positive thinking must have rubbed off because many of the players have the same feeling.

“This year is the year for us,” said Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus. “This is the time for us to go there and do what we were doing last year to make the playoffs. That’s our approach for this year.”

“There’s definitely added pressure from the season that these guys had last year,” said Rangers pitcher Rich Harden. “We seem stronger this year and we can go even further.”

A boost in talent, confidence and loyal support from Texas Rangers fans may have set the stage for this team to see some light at the end of the dark, AL West tunnel.

Hey Dallas! My name is Jeni Maldonado and I recently moved to Dallas/Fort Worth from San Francisco, CA. My reporting career began in the fourth grade when I was my elementary school’s sports reporter. Since then, there was never a question of what I wanted to become when I grew up. I received my degree in Radio and Television from San Francisco State University. During school I took advantage of everything the Bay Area had to offer and interned with the Oakland Raiders, the Oakland A’s, FSN Bay Area and ESPN. For the last three years I have worked as a sports reporter for College Sports Report and VidSF.com where I perfected working as a “one-man-band.” I’m so excited to experience all DFW has to offer and am proud to part of such an amazing team. Please send me your story ideas as well as places for me to check out!
