Monday morning the energy was through the roof at the opening of what is now the largest Whole Foods store in North Texas. Hundreds of health food enthusiasts watched as store employees expressed their excitement to be part of the team running the new Park Lane location in Dallas. Talking about the variety of foods and professional customer service that this healthy food store mecca will offer wasn’t enough for these employees as they stood outside the front entrance. They decided to sing about it instead.

As customers began to head inside the mammoth 64,000 square foot store they got a first hand look at state of the art equipment, including an escalator designed to take that shopping cart off your hands once your done with it. All of this laid out on a floor plan designed to make you feel right at home.

“We opened up the floor plan,” said Park Lane Whole Foods Team Leader Mike Day. “It’s a very open, large store. It has a very intimate feel to it. We did that through merchandising. We did it through aesthetics. We did it through decor and it just brings a fun and open shop.”

That shop includes all kinds of different food, meats and vegetables. If it exists and is good for you chances are you’ll find it at Whole Foods and that’s what most Whole Foods customers love.

“It’s absolutely incredible,” said customer Robert Shutz. “All of the things they’ve done.”

“I love it,” said customer Pam Armstrong. “It’s beautiful, and the displays are all gorgeous. It’s really nice,”

The new Park Lane location employs over three hundred people and is a near mirror image to the companies flagship store located in Austin Texas. Store officials say there is one thing that all two hundred and seventy locations have in common. When you shop there you’re more then just a customer. You’re a guest.

Hello DFW my name is Austin Wright and I'm proud to say that I was born and raised right here In North Texas. I come from a huge family that is made up of some of the most remarkable people I've ever had the privilege of knowing. They say everything is bigger in Texas and the Wright family is no exception. Dreams as we know are an important part of life but in order to truly sleep sound at night we must turn our dreams into reality and live them. Aviation has always been a dream of mine and after graduating from Eastern Hills in 2001 I hit the ground running and eventually earned my wings. For the past six years I've piloted corporate jets all over the world. My travels have allowed me to walk the streets of some amazing cities. However no matter where I am Dallas will always be home. Like flying broadcasting has always been another passion of mine. I'm excited to be a member of this very talented news team and I look forward to upholding our long standing tradition of bringing the DFW community positive, upbeat news.
