Welcome and thank you for your interest DFWreporting.com! It feels great to be back in the Lone Star State and to be reporting in an area so close to my heart. Four years ago, I crossed the Red River and ventured into Oklahoma territory to pursue my degree in journalism at the University of Oklahoma. While a student at OU, I spent four years as part of Oklahoma’s top-rated college newscast OU Nightly, reporting, producing and anchoring and through which I had the privilege to interview Jim Lehrer and Barry Switzer. I traveled even farther from Texas in the summer of 2008 to New York where I served as an intern for CBS News’ Sunday Morning show with Charles Osgood. Also while a student at OU, I paid tribute to my Sooner pride by serving as the first Sooner football game day reporter for the segment I created, Sounds of Saturday. The segment aired weekly throughout college football season on Cox cable, FSN Southwest and FOX College Sports. I have reported nationally on EPSNU as a sideline reporter for Campus Connection Week and have contributed to both ESPNU’s Big Twelve This Week show and ESPN.com. I credit much of my understanding of powerful storytelling through an internship with KWTV in Oklahoma City and from working with reporters at both KTVT and WFAA in Dallas. I have a huge interest in people and the stories they have to share. As a fifth generation Texan from Grapevine, I’m familiar with the endless number of empowering stories right here in the DFW metroplex. I’d love to tell yours!
