It started with an idea and grew into an obsession that developed into a business. Married right out of high school Kristy and Shane Remo always seemed to get along better together rather than apart. Now they both work and own Kristy’s Pampered Paws Mobile Pet Grooming based out of Fort Worth.

“With both of us together we can handle it,” said Kristy Remo. “No problem.”

No Problem for the dogs either. Kristy assures that no stress is involved with her work which makes it comfortable and fun for her and Shane, and comfortable and clean for the customers. Maintenance and gas are the main priorities to a mobile pet groomer especially with a Chevrolet truck that averages thirteen miles to the gallon. But it isn’t quite a concern since she has her husband around to help her with the mechanics.

“He keeps the truck and trailer maintained and cleaned and keeps up with all the maintenance like the oil changes,” said Kristy Remo. “He handles all of that daily and checks after every appointment and makes sure everything is copacetic so I love that.”

When it comes to smaller dogs, the easier the task but when they come in 2 or four at a time that’s the beauty of having two people instead of one. Having eleven rescues so far this year Ron Sturgeon, an investor and owner for Vehicle Reservations, has Kristy come by every Friday to pamper his dogs.

“They seem real happy when they first come back from the groomer,” said client Ron Sturgeon. “Of course they’re running and scampering and trying dry their backs off.”

Even for business owners you can’t argue the price of convenience.

“Everyday is busy so it’s always a blessing for her to come by,” said Sturgeon.

Kristy says she’ll love to get the point of having a national franchise yet still keeping the concept the same. No assembly line. Just her and Shane keeping the sense of quality not quantity.

“To find a career that is so rewarding and fulfilling you get to help people you meet new people everyday,” said Kristy Remo. “You get to work with animals and I get to work with my husband everyday. It’s awesome so I love it. I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.”

I’m very excited to be a part of the DFWReporting Team now! Moving from San Antonio to Dallas was a big change, but thrilling none the less! 2002 graduate from Sandra Day O’Connor High School in San Antonio…Go Panthers… and being a current Alumni from the University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in Broadcast Communications, I’m excited to venture from reporting for the UTA “Shorthorn” newspaper, working in sports radio at The Ticket, and now reporting online “news without the blues”! Staying updated with current events is what I like to do best, and working as an Assignment Editor for NBC 5 in Fort Worth,TX definitely helps with that! Being raised from a military background and having traveled in different provinces, I love the diversity and variety in any environment. You can always catch me signing up for something extreme! That’s right… adventure sports, extreme sports, and exciting entertainment is what I like to live by…my life goal in a nutshell…to have good ole fashion healthy fun! I have high hopes that the popular viewers of DFWReporting.com will enjoy my many stories to come. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, but most of all I hope to have a great impact on lives in the end.
