Many houses sit on the open market for months but when Mansion Minders moved the Earle family into a home in Argyle, Texas it turned from cold to cozy.
“When I walked in a week ago it just felt very vacuous and I thought wow I wonder what it’s going to feel like over here,” said Mansion Minders client Beth Earle.
Beth Earle and her three children are taking part in a housing program called Mansion Minders. The program enables families in need of a place to stay to live in a home currently on the market. By having someone reside in the property it becomes much more attractive to would be buyers than a vacant house but there are conditions.
“I wanted something that would be a win, win” said President of Mansion Minders Brenda Platt.

Earle is recently divorced and was uncertain how she was going to be able to keep her children in the same school district. Now she does not have to worry.
“ I won’t have to worry now about taxes or just a really high rent or anything like that or being in a place that may not be safe,” said Earle.
After her divorce Earle says she was not left with much cash, but one thing she did have was great furniture. That’s one requirement of becoming a Mansion Minder.
“They have to have beautiful furniture,” said Platt. “They have to be able to make it look like a model home.”
Another requirement is they have to keep the house in showing condition at all times. In a buyers market, Platt says she helps the homeowners receive a higher offer, because a warm, lived in home doesn’t have the desperate seller feel. When there’s a buyer Earle will have to leave this home but Platt offers a guarantee.
“When the house does sell I do guarantee them another house,” said Platt. “The most important thing is that my Mansion Minders are getting a good service, a nice home to live in, beautiful furniture that they can use instead of put in storage, and also allow them to save money at the same time.”
Mansion Minders may be beneficial to home owners, realtors and families needing a place to live but don’t want to be forced into making a hurried decision.
