Playing on Dallas Cowboys turf used to be a highlight for high school football players across the state, but now not many teams will have the thrill of standing on the same field where Tony Romo plays. The Cowboys Stadium has often been the ideal venue for high school playoff games in North Texas, but the new stadium comes with a steeper cost to rent, which most high schools can’t afford.
In past years the stadium cost $5,000 to rent, so each team paid $2,500. Now the cost is $15,000 to rent, which means each team would pay $7,500. That’s a price most high schools can’t afford. Maybe this will change in the future.
