The GLOW Project is a shoe string budget movie that is empowering women across the nation and creating a new movement.
“The GLOW Project is probably the most inspiring movie that any woman in business will ever see,” said President of the eWomen Network and producer of The GLOW Project Kym Yancey.
The movie features 15 business women who share their stories of struggle and success.
“Half of them are major corporate achievers like Cathie Black of Hearst Magazines and Susan Rothman Vice President of Consumer Products of the NFL,” said Yancey. “The other half are multi-millionaire dollar business owners. One’s a billionaire whose the founder of BET Sheila Johnson. What’s so powerful is that these women share their inner truth. Nothing is held back.”
Some of their stories include divorce, single parent situations and abandonment at birth.
“One woman who turned out to be the president of Reebock retail was the second daughter in a Chinese family,” said Yancey. “Well the second daughter in a Chinese family in her culture meant that she was insignicant. In fact her parents left her in the hospital for 3 days. This woman did not have love in her life yet she is the most loving, caring and one of the top achieving women in our country.”
Several people showed up at the Magnolia Theater for a viewing of The GLOW Project and here’s what they had to say.
“I’m still floating a little bit I really can’t put it into words”, said Lisa Perry.
“It was really good,” said Sarah Hunt. “It was definately inspiring. For me there was just a couple of small things I take away from it. Probably the biggest thing was courage and having the guys to make big changes in your life.”
“It allowed me to really tap into my own potential,” said Kimberly Mathis. “I’m a aspiring, interior designer so it gave me the peace in knowing that I’m doing just what I’m suppose to be doing.”
The GLOW Project movie took 2 years to complete however producers hope that it inspires a lifetime of achievements.
