I just got back from San Juan Puerto Rico where the National Association of Hispanic Journalists Convention took place this year.
I learned a lot , met some interesting journalists and I got to visit Puerto Rico. One of the things I did not enjoy about this trip was flying. Flying was very stressful, it was always very loud and crowded and there was always a baby screaming. So I wanted to share with you a couple of tips that will hopefully help you have a less stressful flight.

- Always bring ear plugs – that way if there is a crying baby or a lot of noise you dont have to hear it!
- Travel light- bring one bag to check in, then limit yourself to one carryon item only, a backpack is ideal and you can fit a tiny purse inside it.
- Buy snacks- Once you check in buy a bottle of water, gum and some snacks to take with you, that way if the plane doesnt have any food you like you will be ok.
-Bring entertainment- Buy a magazine and load your ipod with new and relaxing music so you won’t be bored.

Hope this tips help you next time you fly

I was born in Lima, Peru. My family moved to the United States when I was 13 years old. It was hard getting used to things since I barely spoke any English but I finally did. During college I interned for the Dallas Cowboys doing everything from handling cameras at the press conferences to interviewing Cowboys in the locker room. I graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington in 2007 with a degree in Broadcasting and a minor in Spanish. I have worked as an assignment desk editor at Telemundo and NBC5 here in Fort Worth. I like being a journalist because every day there is a different story to tell. I want to be able to inform the Hispanic community. Feel free to email me for any story ideas
