Engaging Exhibit Tells Story of Local Hunger As Part of Summer Campaign Calling for Support During Tough Economy

The North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) is taking a creatively stealth approach with its Table for Four – - the latest engaging element of its summer hunger awareness and fundraising campaign.

To demonstrate that hunger can strike any neighborhood at any time of year, the organization is capturing the communityąs attention when they least expect it.  Passers-by are invited to pull up a chair to a family dinner table, set right in the middle of a public gathering or locale. The touching display tells the story of hunger in North Texas.

The NTFB really needs support right now. Food pantries and feeding programs receiving food supplies from the NTFB have seen a significant 35 percent jump in new clients over the last six months. The NTFB must raise an additional $400,000 this month alone to meet increased demand, and is currently scaling back on staple purchases such as beans, canned vegetables and fruit. Concern is growing that quantities of milk may be limited by late summer.
