Southwest Airlines announced today that they made some changes to their current pet policy.

Dogs and cats can now travel with you in the cabin for a “pet fare” of only $75 each way.

Only small dogs and cats are allowed to fly so that Great Dane of yours will have to stay home.

Also your dog will have to stay inside his carrier and you will have to make sure that is

well ventilated and leak proof.

You will not be allowed to pet your cat or dog during the flight and they

will not earn Rapid Rewards.

Who said dogs can’t  fly?? They can now.

I was born in Lima, Peru. My family moved to the United States when I was 13 years old. It was hard getting used to things since I barely spoke any English but I finally did. During college I interned for the Dallas Cowboys doing everything from handling cameras at the press conferences to interviewing Cowboys in the locker room. I graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington in 2007 with a degree in Broadcasting and a minor in Spanish. I have worked as an assignment desk editor at Telemundo and NBC5 here in Fort Worth. I like being a journalist because every day there is a different story to tell. I want to be able to inform the Hispanic community. Feel free to email me for any story ideas
